Testing Ground: A 4-Part Series on PANTHEON’s Operational Pilots

A Smart City Digital Twin is only as good as its ability to perform in a crisis.
In Deliverable 8.1, “Report of Pilots’ Operation Scenarios,” the PANTHEON team has laid out the roadmap for testing our platform in the real world. Scheduled for 2025, these pilots will take place in Athens and Vienna, covering everything from natural disasters like wildfires and earthquakes to complex modern threats like cyber-attacks and heatwaves.
We have broken down this extensive operational plan into a 4-part blog series, giving you a preview of how PANTHEON will be put to the test.
Explore the series below:
- Blog Post 1:From Theory to Practice: Piloting the PANTHEON Digital Twin
- An overview of why we run pilots and the two cities we’ve chosen as our testing grounds.
- Blog Post 2: Athens Pilot: Battling Fire and Earthquakes with Digital Tools
- How we will simulate wildfires and earthquakes to test training and early warning capabilities.
- Blog Post 3: Vienna Pilot: Tackling Heatwaves and Cyber Threats
- Tackling the slow burn of a heatwave and the chaotic cascade of a cyber-physical attack.
- Blog Post 4: Evaluating Success: How We Measure PANTHEON’s Impact
- Our rigorous method for gathering end-user feedback to refine and improve the platform.
This series is based on the PANTHEON Project Deliverable 8.1. The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme under Grant Agreement N°101074008.
